Found this, it includes trips, catchables, and fry for the 2011 plan.Anglinarcher wrote:I know the state often plants fry instead of catchable fish. Fry are cheap to raise, cheap to plant, but are easy prey in many waters.Stacie Kelsey wrote:Not yet. I'll send out another request.
I'm not sure what you are asking about the sub catchable plants?
I just wanted to know how to find out which lakes were getting fry plants and how many fry are getting planted.

We will be putting up something online that tells the rotation of stocking. Some of our fry/high lakes are every year, every other year, every three years.

Interesting you mention this. I was just now creating some signs regarding the catch/release while fishing with bait issue.
Came across anglers at a local lake last Sunday that were ripping hooks from what they considered small fish and feeding them to the osprey. However, the ones that didn't float were littered along the bottom of the lake along the bank. About 30+.
I'll make a reminder post and add it to my signature to its seen regularly.

Stacie, I have another one for you. Per the link to a post below, apparently the F&W has and is still planting Granite Lake near Spokane.
http://www.washingtonlakes.com/ReportCo ... lid=20&t=1
It is located at Lat 47.6 by Long -117.6.
I am almost 100% certain that the State cannot plant lakes without public access, but I find myself questioning legal access to Granite.
Can you confirm that the Washington F&W is planting Granite, and if so, where the legal access they procured is located at?
Thanks as always.

Actually, the State Department of Transportation owns the land on the south end of the lake. The parcels are separated by a 30'easement on that end, most likely owned by the state transportation department also. So, they could put a launch in on the south end of the lake and I suppose, extending S. Meadow Road to the launch.

Type in the following Parcel Number for your search. Click on the parcels around the south end and you will see it is owned by the state.

ResQ -
Got your Offut Lake answer:
"Bottom line is that Offutt Lake is stocked at the highest rate (#/SA) in the County so stocking more fish will result in less fish for other waters.
In 2008 we began stocking most of our BT allotment into Lake St. Clair. St Clair is managed as a mixed species fishery with WW fish emphasis. The results have been outstanding. Limited creel survey indicate that survival and catches have been better than in other lakes (Offutt included). Most of the anglers targeting brown trout are finding success and fish up to 20” are being caught."
Let me know if you need further information on this.

RE:WDFW Q & A Thread - Questions for Stacie Kelsey, WDFW
I'm fairly sure Granite is similar to other lakes that we own 'pieces' of (in my Region Lacamas comes to mind) so that would be what would allow for the stocking into Granite.
It looks like Marc also answered your question. And you are correct, we do not stock where access is denied to the public.

I am not meaning to offend anyone.
There were only two volunteers at this stocking event. They were both from Cascade Musky Association. The other people were myself, Jim our boat driver, Mike the hatchery truck driver and Tim from the hatchery.
No one else showed up.
I would never, ever, exclude anyone. I don't play favorites.

One of my anglers contacted me this evening and they were watching the tigers this evening swimming around the swimming area. He got a real kick out of it. The guys I talked to at the ramp were happy to hear they went in.
