Williams Lake in Spokane County has some mudbugs, but the one's I've seen are small.

Did you spot the small ones along the shore line? If so then that is a good sign!

Hello all,

I just started trying my hand at crawfishing. Does anyone know if there are any in Clear Lake, Spokane county? I've tried twice now. The first, I bought 2 cans of anchovie cat food and put the trap out for just over 2 hours. I didn't get anything. The next time, I caught 3 pan fish. I then cut them up and put them in the trap and, left the trap out overnight in the same spot I had tried before. This morning, again, nothing. The spot I put it at was in about 4 feet of water, located in a small coveish area that has a lot of reeds.

I know the pilchuck river in snohomish county has them,but when I dropped 2 pots,1 was stolen and the other messed with.Its always crowded with people in the summer too.

So I finally got a load of crawdads!!! I was over in Manson for a friends wedding this last weekend and we were staying at the Wapato Lake Campground. I brought my pots and ended up catching quite a few. We had a great Crawfish boil that night and I ended up catching a few more the next night. One was really big, about 8" from nose to tail. So anyways, I was using trout as bait and was fishing in about 20 feet of water. I had the most sucess in the weeds and no sucess in the rocks? Anyhow, just wanted to let you all know that Wapato Lake in Chelan County has some for out list.

wow this has alot of great info in it. thanks alot. a few lakes that i didnt see are gissburg ponds in snohomish co. grandy lake in skagit co. depression lake in whatcom co. any tributary water off the skagit river and whatcom creek. ill post more as i learn. hope everyone has a great 2013 season. ill be out monday for the opener.

Have you been to Gissburg? I was there once or twice but only came up with a couple. How deep do you have your traps there? Do you go out of a small boat?

This is a cool thread to find great info. Lake Samish of Whatcom county needs to be added to the list. I tried baker lake with no luck off of noisy creek has any one had luck out on baker. Here as some out of lake samish.

Nice, I've only tried closer to the parking area, maybe that was the trouble. Right around the outlet was pretty muddy when I was there, so didn't really want to get my shoes wet.

I recieved a lot of messages about crawfish, and areas to get them. This thread should answer everyone's questions! They ate up tasty from the Snoho, and they were extra large. We even had a bunch of meat in the claws to eat!

Im going to Yakima this weekend and in the am drop my pot then come back to a loaded cage. Canned dog food works best for me.I am stopping in Cle Elum. Maybe I'll drop a pot there and see.

I guarantee Cle Elum has crayfish. Use a dead fish as bait and you'll load up. They love dead trout, or if you have an oily fish like shad, that would work too.

I used freezer burned salmon. Down at Thomas Eddy there are so many craws, when I go down and bank for the coho or pinks in there, and just grab some guts off the ground and throw my pot in while I fish, when I leave it's packed with craws and sculpins. It's kind of vicious, the sculpins get in there after the bait along with the crawdads, and then the crawdads eat the sculpins so you pull up a mess of dead or dying sculpins.

I have a question. Ive used dog or cat food because I thought you could not use Gamefish for bait. I knoiw I use Salmon for crab which may not be cool either. Anyone?
