1/0 or 2/0:-$ Same with Vibrax spinners for years we thought on this application smaller was better as in metalhead death it is not:-$ and if you go colored hooks:cheers: to match the body of your presentation :thumleft: they eat it all:thumright trust me field tested to the max!:viking:
Fish on !!!!

RE:Siwash hooks
Swede, let me know if I'm off base on this but I've always used an octopus style hook with the buzz bombs. I never really saw a need to go to a siwash style hook. Also, I put a bead in front of the bumper to help the thing spin more freely.

RE:Siwash hooks
Go with siwashes for lures, octupus' for bait. The buzz bomb and bumper sit better on a siwashe's eye than an octupus's eye.
Also, sickle siwashes, you'll never go back.
Pinch barbs fish on!

Are pinched barbs a reg or just a good idea?

RE:Siwash hooks
It will depend on where you are fishing. If your talking about marine areas 5-13, you are required to use barbless hooks for all fish all the time except when jigging for forage fish (smelt, herring, etc.). Also, if you are waters covered under selective gear rules, barbless is mandatory for all gear.

3/0 -5/0 depending on the package and salt waters pressed:bounce:
RE:Siwash hooks
Should I use an O ring with the buzz bomb setup since the siwash hook has an open eye that needs to be closed? So the line won't slip out.
RE:Siwash hooks

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Your safest bet is to obtain a copy of the regs. Better to trust that publication than someone's commentary here if you are the would be recipient of a ticket. I can see it now.. "Officer, but Islandbass said it was legal to fish with a treble in saltwater. See, I have a copy of his post."cobrar543 wrote:I am asking this again, not sure if I was never answered before or as a child of the 70's I just forgot!!
