We are planning a month long trip next August up to the San Juans. We both have campers and will be bringing a 22' C-Dory for fishing.
Looking for all information we can get as to good RV resorts or camps, which ones to avoid, Marinas and of course, where to fish for salmon, halibut & bottomfish.
We would appreciate any information you wish to share.
Thank you in advance.
San Juan Islands camping & fishing
RE:San Juan Islands camping & fishing
Just a quick reply as there are others that are a bit more knowledgeable on the area than I. The San Juan Islands, located in the USA, are covered under area 7 of the rules pamphlet of Washington State. You'll find that the area is closed for the remainder of the year for Halibut, Rockfish and lingcod. Salmon is open as is the harvest of dungeness crab, coonstripe shrimp and pink shrimp. You may find that the waters of British Columbia offer more opportunities at this time of the year, just a thought.

We will be staying at Odlin County Park on Lopez Island this summer. RV spots, camping, right on the water. Probably wont be doing much fishing but I'll post some pics when I get back.
