Cle Elum Macs and Kokanee

Post by Mike Carey » Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:16 pm

JoAnn and I got to have a fun overnight on lake Cle Elum and came away with some great fish. If you go now, be aware, the kokanee are in slot mode, 7-14". That 14" max will be a bear in a month when the resident kokanee are hitting 15-16". It's to protect the sockeye they are putting in the lake.

great video! that Mac is a beast, you could definitely tell your excitement.. way cool.. the kokanee after that was a bit small you were like "meh" [thumbup]

I love lake cle elum and kachess.. both super cool lakes, just a cool area of the state.. did you guys camp out? we camped with my boat at wish poosh last yr.. it was awesome camping there right by the launch, heading out in the mornings into the glassy lake.. just beautiful... getting the boat took us from more primitive camping to using campgrounds with boat launches.. kachess and cle elum, good times!

We have a cuddy cabin so anchor and sleep in it. As long as I can find a sheltered cove/location I sleep good.
