I think its a combo of you have have alot of Bass guys who are use to weighing fish and then you have Muskie guys who go off length. I tend to combine the both of them when I post...I have a northland ruler that has the weights according to the lengths I personaaly dont hang the Pike for weights.

If you're still watching this thread, I like to get a weight on the fish I catch. I am always interested to see what is the largest fish I catch during the season. as you probably already know, fish of the same length are not always the same weight. I have caught 30" pike that weigh 6 or so pounds and I have caught 30"ers that weigh 8 pounds or more. friendly competition always requires one to know if his fish happens to be bigger than the guy at the other end of the boat. If we both catch a fish of the same length, then we need to know who's weighed more in order to determine who is the true fishing guru for the day. Muskie tourneys are the only ones I have ever heard of that don't require the highest weight to win. Everyone else does it by weight. Happy Fishing

Did anything ever happen with getting this Pike Club Started? If it did I haven't heard about it.

Things are in the works their trying to work out the legal paperwork and the funds to start the club. Buddy in Colorado is heading this charge.

Thanks for the answer sir. I always have gone by the length. Except for bass. Don't know about the guru thing. I consider it just good ol' competitive fun. None- the- less I appreciate your answer back. Hopefully we can hook up and fish either The Pond or Idaho somewhere. I really dug Hayden Lake. Some great structure in that lake. Looks like it be a great musky lake too. Heard that there are some pretty big perch in there. I plan on moving back to Wiscony so maybe before mid summer we can hit the water? Gee thanks Mark. I hired a professional photographer to come along and fish with me that day. He caught a pretty nice fish to. Looking forward to Spring!!
