Auto-log in feature not working

Post by The Quadfather » Thu May 26, 2016 7:28 pm

Anybody else out there having a new recurring issue with the feature of when you check the box that says you will be "Automatically logged in" each time you acess the website..... (Sorry for the run on sentence)

This is not keeping me logged in any more.
EXTREMELY annoying. Every single time I come to the website via my cell phone, I have to log in.
This is a new issue. The auto-log in feature is not working.

The auto-login feature has issues, and bugs, and has had them for ages.

If you login from separate devices, it will force a login, even if you select to stay logged in. Each device will get it's own session ID, and when the session IDs don't match, it forces a login again.

When using just a single device, and moving from the forum to the actual website, it will force a login, or at least force you to visit the forum and return to the website to be logged in.

It's a pain, and one i'm not going to spend any time fixing as we'll be onto a completely new site in the near future and the issue won't exist anymore.

If you have a link to the website, and want to stay logged in, make it a link to the forum. After the page loads, THEN go to another part of the site, like the latest reports. See if that doesn't make things less painful until we migrate to the new site.

Thank you Aaron,
I'm sorry..Looking back, I sounded off in CAPS.
I let the thing get the best of me.

Thank you and Mike again for all you have built here!
I have been on this site since around 2000.
It's a big thing to me. 🤘

This works best for me too.

no worries Quadfather, your frustration is totally understandable. Hang in there, because when we launch the new site it's going to be amazing. You'll be able to post reports easily from the water with your cell phone, pics and all. And easily pull up all the maps and data while you're fishing. The new site will behave very much like an App but still retain the depth of information from 17 years of information from our members.

I can hardly wait!
