I guess I look at it differently, more than I think it is fair. I don't think our correctional system should be based on justice so much as it should be based on the survival of our species. I have no problem with capital punishment, as a matter of fact I think it should be employed a lot more and without so much costly appeal process. What I have a problem with is that long prison sentences accomplish anything, they don't. It doesn't lower recidivism and it is extremely costly. I think we need to all think of this more in terms of what will better our society rather than just quenching our thirst for justice.

No Reindawg ,we look at it the same way. My kid is in lock up with hardened criminals.Murderers,rapists,child predators and alot of druggies. My kid is not that kind of person. Yes he commited a crime and knows he must pay for his actions. What good can come out of locking him up with the others. He'll come out vindictive and will have a grudge on society.My kid was on home detention for 3 years and did it flawlessly.Why send him to a prison.
I relearned a new emotion this year. Its called crying.Theres not a day that goes by that he dosent call me .Except for when they are in a lockdown situation. After every call I cry like a baby worrying for him.My life has stopped for now. I barely fish anymore or leave the house wondering if he will call. I never leave my phone.Even writing this letter breaks my emotions down. My doctor gave me anti anxiety meds but they dont work. I thought it would be easier then it is. Its not.Apart of me is now void of love and void of respect of our system.I pray that maybe just maybe he'll learn and utilize some of the programs in the system but hes a newbie and you dont get crapola till you been there for a while. I do not have the answers to the problem .

The guys boat who got shot up by Bahamian Police is up for sale. I heard its on Craigslist.People are allready cashing in or trying to on Coltons belongings. I love the way people try profitting off this stuff. I remember when they auctioned off Ted Bundys Volkswagon.

A little ghoulish, but I would be cool with that if the poor boat owner gets the money. He deserves a little cash for seeing his baby all shot up I think.
