Petco is a pretty good fishery for Goldfish.

I remember catching a monster goldfish out of Greenlake, Seattle, out of the old Aqua Theater.
LOL If I get a hankering for gold between my teeth, I'll give Petco a try! LOL

So, I flushed a gold fish down the toilet, and the following lakes has goldfish in them:
Name County
Lake Umatilla Benton
Lake Wallula Benton
Pit Lake Douglas
Surprised the crudola out of me!
Makes me wonder if there is a Bitter lake correlation going on? (Sewer line connected to the storm drain).
On more serious note. I thought Green lake had large goldfish at one time.

That's kinda funny! People will let anything go if they don't want to kill it. For a while back east people were catching piranha out of Northern Michigan lakes, only about 1 or 2 a year, but still... People were letting their "pets" go after they got too big or lost their novelty.

that is why I take my fish and put them in a bowl of water and stick em in the freezer for a half hour if I need to "get rid of them"...most humane way I can think of, would rather they succumb to hypothermia than be poisoned in the sewer lol. or be introduced as an non-native somewhere

Snake Head! Pet releases have caused quite a stir back east.

Pond #4 I-82 has Two huge Koi that I saw last week, One was mostly white the other nicely pattern'd with red/orange/black. At least 30 plus inch's. Caught a nice 7" gold fish out of Myron a month ago had it in o pond but it developed a nasty fungus of which it died of. Three lakes in Mallaga out of Wenatchee has a lot of huge Koi and Goldfish(that were as big as Basketballs when they were full of eggs). As a note of interest your store bought pond fish will most likely die if you were to put a koi or gold fish from a lake with them. The lake fish have many parasite's that will kill virgin store bought fish.

I have seen goldfish or Koi swimming the shallows on lake serene - probably used for bass bait or released on purpose. They were pretty good sized too - 8-10"

Goldfish alias Carp are in abundance in Green Lake(King). Ive seen some biggies caught out Green Lake. People are always dropping off the fish they are tired with. I remember back in the 70's 80's when there were a couple Camons on the West side of Mercer Isl;and. People dump them in the lake.
