White spots in fillets

Found these pale spots in the flesh of my fillets. They aren't hard cysts, just white spots. I did'nt really notice them until I set the pieces out to dry. They have not hit the smoker yet. There is some seasoning on there so may be hard to differentiate between the two.
Any ideas if these is edible?

Were they frozen? Maybe a little freezer burn. I would just trim it off and smoke them.

They were frozen. I was thinking maybe they were water spots that froze. Really wanted a second opinion to make myself feel better.

That's what the coho had in them this year. Looks like the Tapioca spotting that isn't harmful to man. (supposedly)
