Trolling Speeds

I have a Minn Kota 35 it puts out 17lbs thrust 4 speeds forward , 2 backwards, 1-5lbs thrust,2 -8 lbs thrust, whats the recomended speed for trolling for lake fishing for Trout

Place the lure/setup you are trolling in the water next to the boat so that you can see it. Start out very slowly and watch the action of the gear you are using and gofrom there. Most likely .5-1mph. Keep it slow.

Big E is right try that. I have a little boat and a 40lb thrust minn kota, we use speeds 2 & 3. Then I have another tiny liitle electric and it only has 3 speeds and we use 2 & 3.
