Rant: A message to the Lake Roesiger fish waster.....

Post by Matt » Sun Jun 20, 2010 8:03 pm

.....PLEASE DO NOT COME BACK TO THE LAKE! Today after finishing up a day of kokanee fishing on Roesiger I found a couple small kokanee tossed in the bushes alongside the boat launch. Always a very sad sight to see fish being wasted like this!! Most of the kokanee in Roesiger are these little guys and if this ******* didn't want to take them home he should'nt have ever kept them to begin with!! Catch and release is still fishing buddy....

#-o Ok I'm done.

When I see something like that I literally feel sick. Even if I catch one and cannot release it for some reason, I bring it home fillet or at least clean it and give it to a family we know if I am not able to smoke or eat them.

Wasting fish is sicking.

I agree Matt. The other day I fished Lake 16 and I noticed a trout dead near the launch. I'm not sure if someone wasted the fish or if it died on it's own and ended up at the launch. Either way, I hate to see a fish get wasted. In your case, since you saw them in the bushes, I'm guessing someone didn't want to take them home which is as you already mentioned is stupid, but lets face it, there are TOO many stupid people in this world so I'm not surprised to hear of your experience. Sucks bro!

sad, but not really a waste. A wild animal will find and eat it.

Matt,
The fam and I actually went down to Roesiger on Saturday to do some bank fishing and turned around and left because of the amount of people there. I had never seen so many people there before and plenty of them were fishing. Roesiger has always been one of the lakes better patrolled by fish and wildlife too. I've been asked plenty of times to show my license. Hopefully the idiots get a little careless and toss the fish when there's an officer around and get a ticket for stupidity.
