How many Days Do You Fish

Post by cavdad45 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:04 am

Just for fun. How often do you fish? Do you know how many days a year you hit the water? When guesstimating, don't just count the full day long trips, include those after work trips that last a couple hours also.

There was a time when I could figure between 200 and 225 trips per year. But now I fish between 80 and 100.
How 'bout you? How many trips a year to you get?

Well this summer I began fishing and I've tried to go about 1-2 times a week. Now that classes have started I'll be lucky to go once a week. Not sure what that'll add up to since I haven't been fishing for a whole year.

I'm just guessing here but I think I've been out 16 times (pretty sad). I use to go alot more but recent years with child support I've gotta work 2 jobs. I will be running down to Lewiston here in the next few weeks for steelhead fishing. The counts at Bonneville Dam are way up with over 11'000 on Sunday alone and close to 200'000 for the year. I'm just antsy as heck to get down there. :bounce:

My wife Sammi, is from England and caught her first fish ever on June 9th this year during free fishing weekend. She got hooked worse than the fish did. We have been out 28 times since. lol

I fish at least once a week. Every sunday no matter what I try to get out and fish. Now that salmon season is up and running again, I'll probably be fishing more often.

At least 70x a year. Still not enough but I'm working on that. :thumleft:
Where is Bass Tracker, I'd be interested in how much time Bob gets on the water.

Even at 300 it would not be enough.:compress:

I have only been fishing maybe 20 times this year. I would have liked to go out more but something would come up so I couldn't. :-({|=
So I have been blessed that I got out those 20 times since I work 6 days a week.:fish:

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Every day for roughly three months while I was unemployed (job-hunt in the morning for 6-8 hrs and fish in the evenings.) Now it seems I only get out once or twice a month. Darn work thing... Looking to get away for a long weekend soon though.

I have Fridays off (work a 4x10 workweek) so I can usually sneak out for the day. I would have to say about 70 times a year, the majority being all day excursions.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Too many according to the wife! Not enough according to me! Call it maybe 150 days, with most of those coming in March-June time frame. The remainder would be evenly divided between September and January once/if the ice sets in.

What helps me is the abundance of lakes in/around the town of Medical Lake, ie Medical Lake, W. Medical, Silver, Clear, Fish Lake in Cheney and Amber Lake. The Spokane River is only 20 minutes away. Combine this with the fact that I retired from the Army last year, the fact that my wife is active Air Force, our boys are only 9 and 11 years old and you've got a bona fida "Mr. Mom" armed with fly rods and the will to use them!!!

School starts in a couple of weeks.....watch out, fish! September rocks!

Old age, 78, has slowed me down a bit but for many years I fished over 100 times a year. That is counting after work trips, steelhead trips, salmon and perch and etc. Now I probably fish only about half that many times.

Man you guys are some dedicated (lucky) fishermen! I could only dream of fishing that much. I figure that between May and October I TRY to fish twice a week, sometimes three and sometimes only once a week. And if you add in the attemps in April and November (sad that they are) I'm probably pushing it if I hit 50 times a year. There is only 365 days a year which gives up 52 weekends. And if you subtract out the family holidays, birthdays, 3 hours commuting, Seahawk games, sunset at 4pm, dirt bike riding weekends, home projects, hang overs, rainy days, wind storms, boat repairs, gasoline prices, winter, co. parties.......................

I cant really guess since this is the first summer I've had in awhile where I wasnt in school.....so yeah Im probably with kenster and try to got out twice a week april to oct. I work 12hr shifts so I sometimes have runs of 4-6 days off in a row. I've probably been out maybe 20 times since June???? I'd be out WAY more if I had my own truck to haul my lil rowboat around with....right now I have to borrow the grandfather-in-law's dodge....if I dont do that then Im stuck shore fishing for the mean time.

Definetely not enough, at least this year. I was going at least twice a week in the spring, then the summer hit with my new work schedule, it's been once a month.

Hate to brag but I have been on vacation for the last 3 months, and fished 70-80 times. Minimum of 4 times a week usualy 7, there are day when I fish three lakes a day, cant say I do verry well anywhere at the time, but I sure learned a lot in this time on my 17.5 boat all setup for fishin. still trying to learn them crappie though.
