Anyone Ever Fished Lake Kelcema?
Hello, everyone! I'm heading to Lake Kelcema (Granite Falls/Deer Creek) next weekend and I was hoping to get some advice about fishing there. Have any of you fished Kelcema? What kind of fish are there and what worked for you? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Ive fished the area some but never heard of this lake. Sorry I'm no help.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

It is listed in my lake resource book, "Washington State Fishing Guide" which hopefully means there are fish in there. Since it's an Alpine lake it's most likely RB or cutts, or brookies. The only info listed is 23 acre lake at 3182 ft of elevation.

RB = rainbow trout and brookies = brook trout? What are cutts? Sorry, I'm not really up on my fishing shorthand. I'm a beginner... Thanks for the info, btw! At least it sounds like there should be fish...

RB are rainbow, brookies are brook trout, and cutts are cutthroat trout. All three species were planted in various Alpine lakes years ago. Hopefully the lake you're going to hasn't been fished out. These lakes can't take a lot of pressure. Good luck and let us know how you do. BTW, try a spinning rod/reel with a clear casting bobber and about a 3-4 ft leader to a black wooley bugger. Cast it out and just slowly retrieve. You'll know real quick if there are fish in the lake or not. Oh, and take some pictures and post them and we'll add them to the database. :dj:RedAngellion wrote:RB = rainbow trout and brookies = brook trout? What are cutts? Thanks very much for the advice! I don't think it should be fished out as it is not a very well known place in general. I'll try and take some pictures for sure.
