Where to access Snoqualmie River (below the Falls)?
Hi, everybody. I'm looking for a little help here ....
I want to try my luck with trout on Snoqualmie River some time this week (because it's closer to home), but I've never been there so don't really have an idea where to go. I saw people are talking about "right below the Falls" and something about a pool around that area. So I checked out Google maps, and it seems that I can access the river from a nearby road called Fish Hatchery Road. Could somebody tell me if I can access the river from there? Is the water too deep for wading? Is it good for fly-sifhing?
I've created this public map "Fishing Spots on Snoqualmie", if you are interested, you can add placemarks to it so that it's even clearer for me. :-) But you need to sign in to Google first. You will see an "Edit" button at the top-right corner in the left-hand side pane, click it then you can add placemarks and comments.
Thank you all in advance!

put in at the blue marker which is pretty much below the falls and you can wade probably a good mile with various pools to fish. right now there are some sea run cutties in there you can target. you can also drive along hatchery road and there are various tight spots you can bushwack into to get to the river.

Thanks, onlymercury. But I didn't see the blue marker on the map!? Can you do it again? Or, how can I get there? In my memory, if it's right below the falls, then I need to park the car in the public parking lot near the hotel above the falls, then walk about 3/4 mails to get down to the water. Is that what you meant?onlymercury wrote:put in at the blue marker which is pretty much below the falls
Thanks again.

BTW, just a reminder: during my search, I saw a news saying that steelhead fishing is closed for this year for Snoqualmie River (actually, it's the entire Snohomish River system that's closed. That includes Skykomish.)

There is access to the falls area but I dont many fisherpeople that will tell all the info they know. Some spots are better not published in anyones map so the whole fishing world knows how to get there. Its hard enough to find more of a pristine fishing spot. The Tokul to the falls is fished by a few.which to me is nice.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

You better look at your news again, or give us an actuall quote. Alawys look at the regs closely. Steelhead is open in these rivers, but are listed as part of the trout regulations.

Yeah, my bad. I saw the post here in this forum, and I saw the date was 2010, but I didn't notice it was in February, which was talking about 2009-2010 fishing season, NOT 2010-2011 season! SORRY!wintersteelhead wrote:You better look at your news again, or give us an actuall quote. Alawys look at the regs closely.
