SPRINGER CAMP

Post by scott080379 » Tue Dec 28, 2010 1:05 pm

So I figured this would be a great time to start this topic.

last year I fished the columbia twice with a guide for springers and got skunked both times. I saw lots of fish being taken from the plunkers off the banks both times I was out.

Who has ever set up a fish camp on the columbia nad what does it take to get the plot of land to do it. are these guys on public land and jsut set up camp for a few weeks?

If they are on public land we should all think about setting up a WL camp for us. The big thing is we would need a kayak or canoe or small boat with amall motor to get our lines out in the water. This could be a anual fsihing trip for us washington lakers. the problem is someone would have to be there 7 days a week if we wanted up for the entire season. Or we could jsut do a weekend but I am sure al lthe good spots get taken up quick.

What are everyone thoughts on this?

most of the camps I saw were on the OR side but there were a few on the WA side most being down stream from the Lewis on both sides of the river.

Great idea scott. You could just swim out there and get my line out. Much appreciated bro! But in all seriousness, this is a great idea.

Is there going to be a boat launch nearby? We should get a bunch of guys with boats and have a derby or something. Is there a large area for camping? It would be a kick to get a group together and have a weekend or two fishin party.

There area few camp grounds along the river, mostly private. But a derby would be a great idea a lot of people on here don't have boats but I know a few people with boats that might want to drag them down to the columbia.

the nice thing about fishing from the bank at camp is we can drink all day by the fire and wait for the bell to ring.

I would definitely be interested in something like this. I don't care if it's plunking or a few of us getting together with our boats...I REALLY want to try this fishery in 2011!! :geek:

Drinking by the fire and stumbling down the bank sounds like a bad combination... BUT It also sounds like a blast! All we would need is one sober person to net!

I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
