I was going to wait until the last Monday and ask what needs to be brought that others haven't signed up for, so just let me know what is needed about then. Just so it fits in the boat as I'll be fishng that morning. lol Payday is a week pryor to the picnic so I'll even have some money to spend.

I'll try to make it. I havent been real sociable past couple years but I do need to get out and see the world a lil bit. I'll do what I can to be there so y'all know I am really me. If I bring stuff it will be what I make.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

The 2011 WashingtonLakes.com Picnic is officially a GO!

When: July 30th (Saturday)

Where: Lake Meridian park.

What: Our annual picnic and fishing fun-fest! Fun Fish in the morning (no derby) and lunch at 11:30am. We'll have lot's of free WL.com items plus free raffles for lot's of nice sponsor gifts.

As in previous years, this is a POTLUCK. Jersey Mikes will provide the sub sandwiches. Members please bring either chips, side dishes (like salads, pasta, beans, etc), and deserts. WL.com will bring plates, plastic wear, and glasses, as well as beverages for all. If we can have a few coolers full of ice that is always helpful. Bring your own chairs, tables, blankets. It's a nice green park but I'm not sure how many picnic tables there are.

Lake Meridian is 2 miles east of Kent. It has bass, perch, bullhead, and trout. There is a nice fishing pier for the shore anglers and a WDFW boat launch, and a city launch.

I know the pinks are going to be running end of July into August, but I hope members will take advantage of the generosity of Jersey Mike's and join in the FUN and FISHING FELLOWSHIP!

Please starts posting your RSVPs so we can get an idea on the number that will attend.

We just found out that the kids have a swim meet in Bellingham on Saturday the 30th and will not be able to attend. A disappointment at our end, we were looking forward to meeting everybody.

Mike, looks like I'll be able to make the picnic. Looking forward to meeting everybody and fishing a new lake. I'll most likely be alone, if so I'll post later and open up my backseat to someone who maybe needs a ride. I'll bring some chips [thumbup]

I`ll bring dip for those chips unless there`s something else needed. My wife makes a great artichoke dip.

Oh, make that 50. I spoke with BIG BASS DEZ and he told me he will be there. [thumbup]

Looks like we have some serious competition this year for the casting contest.

I wont go because I'm anti-social and will most likely be working anyways. But just a heads up for those bringing your boats.

The parking for trailers will be limited. There's only 9 spots for trailers. On the street, there are no parking signs off over.

In the gravel launch, there's room for maybe 4-5 trailers.

Since this is on a weekend, it will be packed.

actually, I count 11 spots. But ya, coming when the park opens would be a good idea to get those spots. There are also quite a few additional single spots in the parking lot and a guy could disconnect the trailer and park side by side as an option. Of course be sure to bring a lock to lock your trailer.

There is also street parking for about a dozen trailer rigs on 152nd Way SE which is right there at the boat launch area.

I don't believe waterskiing is allowed to start until 9am, but I'm not certain on that.

Here's an overhead of the park launch. The WDFW is a bit further north, out of view.

Speed limit is 5mph until 9am when it goes up to 35 and waterskiing starts. Then at 6pm it goes back down to 5mph.

Well, unfortunately it looks like I will NOT be able to attend. The date of the wedding was moved up to the 30th, and the rehearsal dinner is on the 29th.... darn weddings!

Have fun without me though and take lots of pictures!

Not sure if it matters for Jersey Mikes - one of my 3 is a 2 year old, couple bites off my plate and she is off and running again.:bounce:

Hmmm, I guess there are 11. I was looking at an old overhead view on Bing.

Anyways, there are for sure No Parking signs along the street in front of the launch, but I see people always parking on there early in the mornings for the early swimmers.

Amx, if you have a chance could you take a look? I know you live in the area. The overhead view shows 15 cars parked along a seperate parking lane. It sure looks like additional parking to me. In any case, I really don't think it's going to be an issue.
