Crow Butte
Haven't seen anything posted up about there in a while. Headed down for the weekend with the boat and camper, gonna try to catch some fish if it isn't too hot. Any tips? Not fishing for anything in particular, catching anything is fun! Thanks!

Used to fish down there a lot when I was in high school. Have you ever been there before?silverbullet02 wrote:Haven't seen anything posted up about there in a while. Nope, this will be our first time on that part of the river.

Lots of SM bass to be had around the inlet. There used to be larger ones out towards the mouth on RR side fishing along the large boulders. Supposed to be some walleye in there too, but have never fished for them. Hope you have a great time. Used to be a really nice park. Haven't been there in nearly 20 years though.

Take some bottom walkers and plenty of nightcrawlers. The Butte itself has slowed down the SM have moved deeper. The river side of the Butte is picking up again. Look for the boats drifting for walleye and you should do good. If you are looking for SM, there are some big boulders on the river that create some nice currents that they seem to be hanging out in. Tubes or grubs work good for these. Good luck. I will be camping out there Sunday thru the middle of the week.

Will do silverbullet. Just saw the updated weather report for down there. Winds 15-18 mph all weekend. Makes it tough to get out of the butte. Crazy summer.

Got down there late Thursday, got a nice late start on Friday just being lazy for a change. Launched after lunch and there wasn't even a wisp of wind. Cruised around for a while, stop and swam and ate and just goofed off. Came in at dinner time. Didn't even put a pole in the water on Friday. Saturday, really windy, reports of 3 footers, some bigger, didn't even put the boat in the water. Sunday, woke up, wind still blowing, loaded up and here I am at home. The campground was nice though!
