Moses Lake
A small group of people were spotted out ice fishing Moses Lake this afternoon. Just north of the Blue Heron park bridge about 4 people were sitting on buckets in approximately 22' of water. Just to the south of the bridge is a fair sized pocket of open water.

Re: Moses Lake
The cooler weather is back and Moses Lake is icing over again. For a while around New Year's it had some open water where I've been spotting the fishermen.

Counted 11 people out fishing in front of the Blue Heron boat launch. A few rocks on the ice where they were testing ice thickness.

Re: Moses Lake
Would appreciate an update on the ice conditions/thickness and whether much ice fishing success is going on at Moses Lake and where abouts on the lake. Am planning a trip over there on Feb 2nd. Thanks, Tightliner

Better plan on bank fishing some where. It's too warm now.

Re: Moses Lake
Here's an update on the Moses Lake ice thickness. The police fished three people out of the lake on Friday. There were divers there also. I'd like to think the divers were retrieving gear.
I'm waiting to see the official report on this as I only have word of mouth at the moment. This should be in the Moses Lake paper on Monday.

Re: Moses Lake
Ouch! I guess higher elevation lakes are the ones to stick with this year. None of the ice was thinner than 18", Fish and Patterson.......

Re: Moses Lake
Idaho and northern WA have thicker ice. We had a 50 degree day yesterday here and today looks like more of the same.

Caught a dozen perch at Fish Lake near Leavenworth last Thurs Feb 8th. Ice was 18 inches. Only about a dozen people out fishing. Nice day about 30 degrees with some snow and sleet at times.
Re: Moses Lake
In winter I prefer lake fishing although it is very dangerous. Such fish is more alive and thick))

Re: Moses Lake
Even though there are some oddballs still ice fishing at Moses Lake, a prudent and or wise fisherman would wait until after the ice melts.
Or.... have a very skinny body and very big feet to minimize the chance of breaking thru.
We've had above freezing temps here for a week.
Now I've heard that two weeks ago Coulee City had 8 inches on Banks. You might think about that.
