best place to shore fish in the south sound/tacoma area?

Post by bel83 » Thu Sep 29, 2011 8:50 pm

Been a while since I have posted but I currently find myself with a good setup for shore fishing for salmon or whatever else bites. I am just not familiar with good places to go that I can cast and hope to hook into something, or at least not have a bad day of it. I live in puyallup so anything in the southsound/tacoma area is good. I am not into river/combat fishing no do I care much for fishing off of a dock or pier.

thoughts - ideas?

Last year I went out to the beach by Dash Point at dawn and fished the incoming tide. I did really well for silvers and pinks. I either used a spoon or a buzz bomb.....

Silvers are to be caught at dash point I been there and still go there for fishing. It may still be early for silvers right now. Pinks you will have to wait until next year to get fish and almost be guarantee a fish. best thing is to head down and check it out. usually August is a good time.

I live in Auburn so dash point is the closest for me to drive too as for I am always there.

That is where i go fishing as well, its slow all around there it seems, i have only heard of anything good sized being native, i see alot of people down at browns point fishing from shore when the tide is down, its worth a shot thats for sure, i did get a few bites in between redondo and browns, but no fish.
It wouldnt be called fishing unless you are always catching, best of luck!
