Got a phone call last night at 6pm that my buddy was hitting the N.F. Stilly. crazy b*st*rd. So after a 50 min drive i pulled into his driveway and we went down to the honey hole by his house, pitch black outside. first cast with some firecure shrimp (no glow jig, straight shrimp, i was testing something) and my little glow stick is gone. See attached picture. Lost 3 more and landed another. off the river by 9pm. what i thought was crazy is i always thought you need a glow jig to fish at night. wrong!! some stinky shrimp under a float is all those fish need.

i love fishing at night! the fish cant see you which takes away the shyness. the only thing that p*ssed me off last night was a guy up at the hatchery creek that was spotlighting the hole river when it was dark. big no no if you want to catch any fish, so we moved down the river and it turned out to be a good night.

Not sure where the hatchery creek is but I was on the NF last night with no luck on raw shrimp.

If your asking about the guy with the red light swearing up a storm then yes. I was out of there pretty early though.

Fishing at night is nothing new. Certain natural baits have Phosflourescent in their skin . I feel thats why when there is a moon fishing tapers off the next day.We used to use Crawfish meat from the tails. When we would lite up the glo ball corkies we noticed the tail meat had its own light emitting from it. I could never prove this but through years of fishing the N. W we found fishing wasnt as good the next few days after the moon went down. I guess this is a "Racfish,Believe it or Not"

smelt is another one that almost glows at night.

Full moon was 7 days/nights ago. The New/Dark moon is 7 days/nights from today. These nights the last few years I catch more night Bass under the Dark Moon. I used to catch more Largies under the Full moon, and used the shadow lines just like day fishing and the shadows from the docks, logs, and all.
