yep! 3/8th oz super glows with 2.5" hoochies trimmed to 2". I trimmed a few down even shorter for the fininky fish.

you can get those plain jigheads cheap! 25 to a pack for 5$ to 8$ depending on weight
http://www.mistertwister.com/informatio ... ~RJH3825-U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and then i bought those oversized squids 40 for $10 and i just cut em to different sizes..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ANC ... UTF8&psc=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i think thats about .60 per jig for 25.. i still got another bag of jigheads to use up..

not tellin what i paid for the DN's :) just that it was special.. \m/

I'm going with jigs in just about every shade of pink I could I could find in fur or marabou, with and without pink tails in multiple shades as well, from micros to 1/2 ounce. I know I have gone overboard, but with baseball season over for the boys I have found myself needing something to fill that void. I lost several of those wee DN last year while drifting from the bank without catching any, might give em another go now that I got a toon.

You can get good jig heads with owner or matzuo sickle hooks way cheaper on ebay, I just bought 200 for 25 bucks. Get a bottle of pro-tec and a buns en burner and bam!

I work at a dental lab, so I painted all 200 in about 30 minutes sitting on front of my bunsen burner. Just a bucket of cold water, jar of powder paint. Heat the jig, dip it twice and into the bucket.

Took more time to clean out the eyelets.

I'm looking forward to pinks, I think they taste fine and finally having some eggs to cure will be nice!

I use a big ol' candle. Do mine at the desk watching the tube. I do each jig twice then bake at low heat to make sure I get a rock solid coat. And yeah cleaning those eyes area serious pain. I might just stuff a tooth pick in the eye and leave the outside coated.

I used a brown sugar and garlic brine on some pinks, they smoked up just fine. [biggrin]

yeah you gotta fish those slow and low.. recipe for snaggles.. you lose less on pink yrs cuz pinks attack them more aggressively than coho, so u get more hook ups before snaggles. but when the coho are in during the pink run, you'll catch them as well.. bonus! a lot of the time I just use green or chartreuse tipped DN's while coho are in.. i'll catch a ton of pinks still and some coho..

I like jigs below town and DN's above.. on the snohomish..
on the Duwi i'll go jigs up to the powerlines and dn's up river from there..

all plans subject to change.. [thumbup]

Aint that the truth! That's why i carry 3 rods and a heavy back pack. Bring it all and keep throwing until I figure out what works. [thumbup]

Oh, and if you see me rolling by, say hello! [thumbup]

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

If I just toss pink jigs will that work? Floating them down river with just the jig as weight.

I'm still playing baseball for another 2 more weeks, seems like I have barely been out fishing this summer.

I coached two little league teams, which just finished. Taking a couple of weeks off so that we can go visit the family in Southern Oregon. Then back to tournament team play. I have had only 3 days to fish this summer. kinda sucks, but my time is definitely not wasted.

I dont know if they will work under a float for pinks or not. I have yet to try it. I have only seen guys twitching jigs. I believe there needs to be a good deal of action to get them to attack the jig. I could be wrong, the only way to find out is to toss one out there, but I am willing to bet that you will still manage to hook up. They are pinks, they will be in the thousands upon thousands and they are greedy. In fact I am will to bet you could throw a pink foam cheater on a hook and catch pinks. [biggrin]

Didn't even think of using a float. Was just gonna throw the jig and work it
