headed to North Eastern Wa for 5 days, where should i fish!

I just got my vacation okayed at work and my reservation at little diamond lake just north of Spokane. I have never fished this corner of the state and not sure what or where I should be going for. small creeks fly fishing? lakes for trolling for trout or casting at bass? are musky a possibility? I am pretty much clueless and need to know what to pack. I am debating bringing my 14ft aluminum with my 55lb thrust electric so I know some of the bigger lakes are out of the question.

any suggestions will be great. i will be going Augest 9-14th if that changes anything

I would give the Pend Orellie a try, Sacheen has had some fine Crappie in the past. Davis lake holds some of the prettiest Largemouth I have ever seen. Callispell, Ruby and Tacoma creeks can be fun to fish.

Fishing Diamond Lake can be productive at times. The LMB can be pretty good in the weeds and under the docks, there are some good large perch that can be drop shotted this time of year (try about 35' to start). Of course this requires access to a boat.

Sacheen has some pretty good LMB as well as the Crappie, a few nice Brook Trout, etc. Boat again.

Eloika Lake is south of there, but if you take a boat (can be rented at Jerry's Landing) and fish the weed clumps with pockets in them, you can get some great perch this time of year.

Your boat would be great on any of these waters. I have never fished Davis, but if you could get a boat on it, it looks tempting as YellowBear suggest.

Most of the small lakes that I consider trout lakes are more towards Northport, but there are some great little lakes full of Trout. A fly rod early and late will keep your arm sore.

I don't know the streams well in the area, most are quite small, but YellowBear seems to have some good advice.

Just west of Diamond is Loon, Deer, Jump Off Joe and Waitts Lakes. Lots of places to fish in this part of Washington.

Diamond is actually a good sized lake and there will be lots of fun boaters on the water there. As to other options close by, they've been pretty well listed. The big question is how much driving do you want to do vs relaxing and fishing - so many lakes and so little time.

i know this is the biggest problem i am running into. there are too many good looking lakes. i dont want to spend too much time in the car if i dont have to. but if there is something that is worth the drive (less then an hour from newport) i would make the drive. it is not just a fishing trip so i will just have the morning to hit the lakes and get back to camp, for the exption of 1 day i am going north and high altitude to find a creek that gets low pressure. . the bass fishing would be fun, i dont get much exposure to it on the west side.

**bump** we are staying at marshall marsh aka little diamond lake, word is that is has bass. so i will be trying that.
the big news is the gf is no longer going and it is now a fishing trip is bead lake way to big for a electric motor? i have always wanted to fish for mackinaw and i figure its deep enough the sun wont mess up fishing too bad

Bead is supposed to have some nice Mack's. You should not use up too much battery if you are jigging, depending on your actual set up. Good Luck

If this is where you're going it's supposed to be a cutthroat only fishery although there may be some burbot. My wife and I fished there several years ago and met Marc Martyn and Lotech Joe for an eastside get together. Super clear water and no bass I know of. Bead is about 7miles away and the PO river is even closer. Other lakes within an hour's drive of Marshall would be Diamond, Sacheen, Davis, Kings, N & S Skookum.
