Post by obryan214 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 2:00 pm

i say thanks for filling my tackle box. today I picked up about 100 corkies and other similar lures off the beach at pt. defiance. this weeks total is about 200. the season has brought me well over 1000. I may never have to buy corkies again. [thumbsup]

Ha yep I havent had to buy corkies since the puyallup opened. Check out also the launch at the mouth, tons of corkies congregate there.

I walked down that beach a couple weeks ago with my girlfriend and saw loads of corkies as well as a hypodermic needle. Be careful there.

Caught a humpy on the snoho last sunday that had a jig and bobber, a wicked Willie and a plunking setup with a spreader bar and a 4 oz pyramid weight. Oh and it was a hen so i got some more eggs too [thumbup] . My friend always says don't throw anything in the river you ain't willing to lose, that's ok most times, except when its your drift boat anchor [cursing]

todays corky count was 40.
a guy who saw me picking them up before gave me a bag with several unused and original okie drifters, spin-n-glows and some kind off corkie like thing with bob in its name that I can't remember. a guy from the boathouse traded me 2 pt. wilson darts and a zinger for 2 okies and 2 bob things. apparently they are worth they're weight in gold.

I disposed of the needle today as well as a couple vodka bottles, several shoes and a bunch of other garbage.

I went last week couldn't believe all the garbage by far the worst river I have ever seen as far as garbage goes.

Should have seen it the Thursday a couple weeks ago when the storms pushed the river high. Countless gatorade/sports drink bottles, full garbage bags (saw several of them), basketballs (saw 2 of them), a huge yoga/exercise ball, an oar, and the corkies. It was like someone was sprinkling confetti in the river.

Thankfully I missed it, but apparently that was the day that the missing rafter floated down, too.
