Where are we going to meet in the morning/ end of day? Al Borlin has quite a bit of parking, plus a little bank fishing access.

Cady Park. There is plenty of parking just up the hill on the main street. I'll try to get a map posted when I return from fishing next week, or, maybe someone could post a map for me?

I will try to attend, even if its just to meet all those WALakers who appear to have won the lottery so they can spend everyday fishing while the rest of us bums work.

Hey, some of us have jobs. They just involve fishing.

Unfortunately, I'll be neatly tucked away in a climate controlled NOC, making computing save for several million people. Maybe not unfortunate, the pays not bad and I get 5 days off in a row every work cycle.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Re: October 5th 2013 Snohomish/Skykomish riverside clean up
We were just discussing today (Gringo Pescador, Nate Treat, and I) that the recent high water probably flushed everything out to the Sound. But I bet we'll find some stuff all the same.
So 7am, everyone meet at Cady and we'll hand out garbage bags, gloves, and break up into groups. Those that have boats can ferry people to spots and ferry trash back to Cady. Figure on meeting up at noon for a bit of potluck and a few freebies.
If you "happen" to do a little fishing in-between picking up trash that works, too. I know I will.
Afterward we'll transport said garbage bags to a transfer station. Anyone know the nearest one to Snohomish?

Re: October 5th 2013 Snohomish/Skykomish riverside clean up
As long as the river level goes down quite a bit between now and Saturday, I am planning on bring my boat. I will be fishing and probably pulling plugs from spot to spot just due to covering a lot of water. Hoping that the water level comes down, and full trees are not coming down river still on Saturday.

I think that would be fine. I don't know how many people will have boats and I'm totally leaving it open to people to hitch rides on boats, or fish and clean from shore. We'll met, greet, disperse, and meet back at the park at noon for a lunch break and to drop off garbage bags for transport to landfills.

Where's that map at? I've never been to Cady park in Snohomish. I'm sure I could find it on google maps, but where in the park are we meeting?
Also, I wont be bringing fruit salad anymore, we have to duck out before noon to get to another function.
Look forward to meeting you guys, hopefully get some junk cleaned up!

I will be there around 6-6:30 to meet Gringo Pescador. I plan to park down in the park area, and will put a WL.com sign on my truck windshield. People can park in the park area, or, on 1st Street, which is just a short block away from the park. We'll meet and pass out garbage bags and disperse, and then meet up at noon for a potluck at the park and to take care of the trash bags.
I'm not sure how many people are bringing boats. The tides will be good to launch at Cady Park. We can have people find boats to share, or drive to shore spots.
My thought is for people to go out in small groups to some of the heavy use areas. Like the area off of Lowell-Snohomish Rd/82 Ave SE. Or the train bridge just outside of town, or down Shorts Road to the Thomas Eddy area.
