winter brown trout
Is there anyone planning on hitting this great fishery this winter? If so were and with what? I generally troll Rapala with fair success, I plan to try green lake this winter.

brown trout in green lake i didn't know that. Where do you normally go for them?
Re: winter brown trout
West of the cascades and east of Puget sound there are 4 places to get brown trout that I know of north of seattle, green lake king county, Martha (wb) Snohomish county, pass lake skagit county, and cranberry lake island county. If there are others please tell me lol. I've gotten browns only from Martha(wb) so far.

Re: winter brown trout
I've C&R'ed nice browns in greenlake.
I would just throw a whole nightcrawler on a barbless hook with 1/2 of the work strung up the line and the other 1/2 danging off the hook. Then toss it out with only a splitshot about 4' up from the worm and row my canoe around the lake.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
Re: winter brown trout
There used to be a guy who'd catch brown trout in Pine Lake and post reports here. I'd occasionally run into him on the lake too. Haven't seen any posts from him in a while and haven't seen him on the lake either, come to think of it. I think he went by the handle BigBrown69. You can probably find some of his reports under Pine Lake reports. He'd troll deep and slow with a Rapala if I remember right. Pine lake is not open year-round though. Good luck.

Re: winter brown trout
If you have a boat/canoe for Green Lake, try trolling a wedding ring with some nightcrawler. That place has quite a few browns.
Re: winter brown trout
I love trolling wedding rings, I'll definitely try that at green in my raft
