spent the last 3 days steelheading and absolutely nothing except for some dollies and whitefish. 2 days on the cascade and heard of 2 hook ups and saw nothing in the creek or in the river except boot coho. today I checked out fortson hole and heard of 4 caught and a couple lost, some coho swimming around in there too, river looked great too. cascade was at a decent level but crystal clear. took the sled in the Skagit too and nobody hooking any steelhead in there but lots of boats out

the kid on the creek side of the river fishing the seam below the rocks in that little cove, black jacket gray chest waders. I first started the next hole downstream than walked up to fortson

I haven't seen enough talk about winter steelhead on here lately. Here is a nice native that annihilated our wiggler this morning. Best fight we've had all winter, actually had to follow it down! They love the sticks. We drug the boat back up and hit the slot again for round two. Same spot, another fish! Let's see your fish guys!

It's really been a tough winter overall. I think the lack of photos on this thread kind of shows that.

I need to hang out with Nate. I've been up and down the banks of snolqualmie and really enjoy the scenery since that's all I'm doing. In the meantime, I'm reading up in tutorials and readjusting my techniques. I'm trying spoons, floats with jigs and pink worm, cured and uncured shrimp ( with or without scent).
I'm thinking about depth charges as a last resort...lol

Lots of laughs, very sketchy rapids and a beautiful Puget Sound wild steelhead about sums ups todays pontoon float on an exploration trip to a virtually unfished and unknown river today... With our season being cut shorter and shorter, and with all the netting and overfishing... I am truely greatful to be able to hold such a beautiful and increasingly rare fish in our region. Nothing better than a upper watershed puget sound wild steelhead! Had fun with many coho and dollies on the side as well

A little look at the kind of water we floated through all day. Try that in a driftboat!
