Better river for Chum - Green or Puyallup?

Thoughts? Or are there escapement reports that can answer this question?

I used to fish the Sky and the Puyallup for Chums but quit when the runs tanked. Look at the historical run size on the link doc page 2. The Chum runs have sank so much I just leave them alone.

Haven't fished the Green for chum in several years and the Puyallup even longer. Last time I fished the Green was about 6 years ago and was lights out for chum from Metzler down river a ways starting around mid Nov. Can't say how it is now.

Nisqually for Chum. Green and Puyallup kick them out also.

To eat? Never bonked any from those rivers, but the majority of the ones in the Green I've caught were dark. Fish the mouth of Clark's creek on the Puyallup, for brighter fish.

When are the chum going to run on the puyallup? And what setup did you use?

Never fished the Puyee. The Nisqually used to have a late run of Chums in November and even early December. They were kind of unusual because they were late, extremely bright and a lot of them. The guys used to fish shoulder to shoulder just above the R&R bridge on the lower river. Bobber with a purple jig. A lot of the guys were flossers, long leader, a slinky and a bit of yarn to look legal. But I heard the land owner shut down trespass to that spot. I also heard that run kind of died out. I haven't fished it in 4-5 years. It used to be a real party on the Sky at Hansens Farm but trespass is closed down now and the Sky run isn't much.

The commercials have really hammered the Chums for roe. Last week at Everett I came back from fishing for Silvers and there were 5-6 purse seiners at the guest moorage at the Marina. I passed one going out right by the Navy dock and he was pulling his alum chase boat. Tribal I think. The Silver run was pretty much over and the only thing they could be going for was Chums. I think the WDFW views Chums as mostly a commercial resource to keep the tribes happy. I did get one 10 pound Chum and the guy next to me at the Marina, 2 rods, had two.
