Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
I haven't even been to Clear Lake in Pierce County yet and already I have been asked not to report anything.
" not to do reports on clear. lets not blow a good thing. you will see why. no reports on clear. especially, since we have ten fish limit, starting on july 1. imagine. ten lbs of kokes a day. not if we blab. get it? i wanted the ten fish for us locals. not the darn state."
My response is "I will do what I have always done. "
I wonder if he sent a request for the state to not publish the regulation in the pamphlet?
Do not send me a request for not reporting. I use this site as my fishing log. Not only do I use it but encourage everyone to use this site for reporting. If you don't that is fine, too.
At my seminar I tried to emphasize knowing the lake you fish. I try to put water temp and weather in them too. What the next days weather might have an effect on your current outing. This last year Junes' water temp was similar to the water temp in Sept. the previous year. My fishing log is this site and I share it with all who want to see it, as well as my website.

I couldnt agree more. I believe in sharing knowledge and sharing the fun. The name of this website is Northwest Fishing REPORTS. If you dont like reports, dont come here. If people hadnt helped me out many many times over the years I might have given up on fishing long ago. Thumbs up to you and dont let the scrooges get you down!
Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
Its bizarre to me to have someone ask someone else not post reports on a site specifically designed for reporting on how the fishing is on a particular body of water. Since that person visits this site, I would assume that they do so to pick up info and tips, otherwise, why are they here? So its ok for them to get info as long as no one else does?
The more people that get involved in fishing and are successful in doing so, the better in the long run for everyone. From the local economy, folks selling gear etc all the way up to the state getting more funds specifically for management, ie more opportunities.
This site has been invaluable to me. Reading reports on what is working/not working has been a huge help, even when its not a body of water that I fish. Every single report gives me just a little more info, and doesn't necessarily influence where I fish, but more how I fish.

They think my reports are sssooo good that everyone and their mother will be fishing right next to me. Maybe I should take it as a complement.
They indicated that others would not be reporting on Clear Lake. Oh well!
It will be sad for all those they could help.

Toni, you're lucky you're not reporting on the bloody decks website. You would get cursed, yelled at and threatened publicly for posting ANY detailed information beyond "Neener neener neener I caught a fish." and the mods seem to think thats just fine.
Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
Good for you Toni, I feel the same way and was sitting here thinking so opening weekend and NO reports yet.....hmmm fishing must be off the hook with BIG KOKES, lol. I was going to head over today but had to get the center door windshield replaced in my boat so did not go.
Larry, yes bloddy decks is not a site I wanted to join after reading some of the comments and just moved on.
I only belong to two sites and proud to be a member of each and share my information and I don't hold back I show what I used to catch and scents used. If I can help someone catch fish why not, I can only eat so much and to see the smiles on others faces when they catch fish is worth the time and effort of sharing. Tight lines!

Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
I think we should have a fish outing to Clear lake for a day .
Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
I plan to fish clear lake, and I plan to report as always. I like the help I get from everyone and I like to give it back.
Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
I went to Clear this afternoon. I only caught one trout but pinkpole (who can't remember her password or it doesn't work) got 4 kokanee.
Pictures and report later.
Motors worked. Just the constant beep from the big motor that only quits if I turn off the electricity to it. Well my kokanee mojo wasn't working either.

Would the beeping be the low oil warning?

Thanks Toni. Some people are just insane.
Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
Better figure out why that motor is "beeping" or there might be some "bleeping" in future posts my dear!

Odd they would get upset and ask Toni not to report. I do however, also understand the stance of locals who don't want an influx as well but this is a great fishing website where members post their reports. I try to keep both in mind when posting. The only drawback I've had is finding responsible people to fish with in north county lakes or 8-2. WAHHHH *lol

I fish with a guy that wont post either. I always do because this is a group of people helping people. I have always thought so. Good going Ms. Toni!
Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
It has happened on and off for over a year. This is what is wrong...Got it from iboats: "Re: beeping alarm inside throttle box, overheat alarm? 1989 Mariner 115 HPTRAUT wrote:Better figure out why that motor is "beeping" or there might be some "bleeping" in future posts my dear!
A solid beeeeeeeeeeeeeep is an overheat alarm, a continious rapid beeping is an oil alarm, either demand your immediate attention.
If the rapid beeping continues/begins immediately as the key is turned ON but the motor not started, it could be an adhesive failure, the magnet on the bottom of the oil tank float falls off, triggering the constant beeping oil alarm. If this is the case, unplug the two blue wires under the oil tank to see if the alarm quits. If so, order a new oil tank.
If this is not the case and it is the oil alarm, add oil to the fuel to a 50 to 1 mix to protect the motor until this is figured out and repaired."

Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
So it sound like maybe the magnet fell off the oil tank float. Meanwhile you're not getting the benefit of any of the warning sensors and if you do have an oil issue or overheat condition you might not know til it's too late. Just sayin, I know your boat is your baby, most things are cheaper to prevent than to fix. If it's just a matter of replacing sensors or other parts, I'd be glad to give you a hand with that, as I'm sure many other closer by members would also.Toni wrote:It has happened on and off for over a year. Thanks Toni! Your posts, on whatever lake, helped me get started and become a better kokanee angler. Glad to hear you'll keep doing what you're doing.
Re: Clear Lake, Pierce County on kokanee
Toni, if its the magnet easy way to find out is to fish some line around the float and the magnet underneath the float and pull them up manually and hold them there. Start the boat and see if the beep continues. Option 2 is check the polarity to the prob and make sure it's not shorted out.
