Does anybody have a Sekiu report?

Post by BARCHASER10 » Mon Aug 01, 2016 5:50 pm

Looking for a recent report, I fished Sekiu couple weeks ago for five days. Some fish, not a lot, 3 rods and we hooked 9 and landed 7, 3 13-14 pound marked Chinooks, 3 blackmouth 24-25" and one really nice fish close to 30 that had too many fins. My boat had to go to the hospital when I got back and I wont get it back until tomorrow so I missed MA 9. I'm thinking about another run to CQ before it closes on the 15th but I haven't seen any recent reports.

Anybody heard anything?

Thanks.

Just got home mon. night, sounds about the same, as your trip, caught and released wilds and smalls until arms fell off.
Also got keepers, 1.5 per day avarge 2 people fishing my boat. Fished 3.5 days. Not A disappointing trip, would do it again if I could.

Thank you. What you did is better than the on line fish checker reports over the last week which showed about a 20% daily success rate per rod. Any tips on spots or gear? We did best on flashers and Kingfisher or Coho Killer spoons.

I didn't go. I wanted to go back. I tried 4 of my fishing buddies but they all had something else to do and said no. I need to join PSA or something, I need more fishing buddies. At my age, 72, for obvious reasons, I don't have as many fishing buddies as I used to. Looks like locally, there will be some Blackmouth fishing in 9 and 10 in November but no Coho.

barchaser, know how you feel...my age is 80.....my fishing partner of 54 years just suffered a major heart attack, while she is on the mend,,, with 3 broken ribs from the CPR,, and a concussion from hitting the floor,,,, and also heart surgery, I have had to put the boat away.....didn't make it to CQ, this year maybe buoy 10 later depends on the healing time...............
