Bob's Sporting Goods - awesome!

Post by Larry3215 » Sat Oct 08, 2016 7:52 pm

Wow! I had not heard anything about this place (I live in the Gig Harbor area 1.5 hour drive away) but now that I have been there I have to share - its awesome!

We decided to up-grade our DIY anchor nest for river fishing. Our setup was fine for lakes and light weight anchors but totally inadaquate for the Columbia and a heavy anchor.

Checked out Sportco, BassPro, Cabellas, checked on-line, etc. Sportco was the only dealer near by who had anything in stock. They had some good stuff but not the exact brand/model we wanted - Anchor Caddy Pro.

After calling the MFG and several other places we learned the Bob's in Longview was the closest place that had the exact one we wanted in stock. We didnt want to order one only to find out it wasnt exactly what we wanted. I like to get touchy feely before spending $300 on a new part for the boat.

I was expecting a smallish mom-n-pop setup but they are a big outfit with tons of gear. From what I saw, their prices are excellent too. On a par with Sportco, but more selection than the Fife store. Everyone else was selling this model for $299.95 and Bobs was selling it for $259.95.

Im sure those of you living down that way are familiar with them, but if you live up more north, it might be worth a drive.

Oh yea! My buddy lives in Longview and it's cat's meow of sporting goods stores! and there is one in Portland for no tax!
A lot of the guides down there are regulars to Bob's!
