Downs/Jump Off Joe ??s

Post by Nik » Thu Jun 14, 2007 8:58 pm

2 questions for these 2 lakes:

Free public launches?

And can I launch whenever I want, as in 4-5 AM? I know some launches are run by resorts and they're not open until 6:30 or so. I want to get out for some early morning topwater action.

Thanks in advance.

Been fishing at downs for years. Been 2 different owners since and both have been real cool about me just leaving a launch fee at the shop when i get there.

According the the Regs, both lakes have public launches.

True story... The guy is pretty cool. Just leave 5 bucks in the "box" and launch away. Half the time he says "oh just catch me next time" .... maybe it's just my pretty face......... :-s

I have never fished either of these lakes, but here are a couple of phone numbers that should give you all the info you need.

Downs lake:

Downs lake resort: (509) 235 - 2314

Jump off Joe:

Jump off Joe resort: (509) 937 - 2133

Jump off does have a public launch. Just before you get to the resort on the same road. It could be a problem because the water is pretty low to launch there depending on your boat. The launch at the resort isn't bad if you have a small boat, but it's kind of hard to maneuver a trailer through the trees at the resort.
