Can you identify this? Finaly with photos
Some time ago this topic was brought up on a Mean Mouth Bass. I thought it might be fun to do this fish, even though it will be easy, well maybe.
Have a little fun and do the research; can you identify this fish?
OK, let's try this again. Warning, it might not be as easy as you think, and if you want, PM me and I'll e-mail you a higher resolution photo you can zoom in on.

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

It looks like the fish my father and I caught in Anahim Lake, BC when I was but a high school student in the 80's. The fish up there were mostly hybrid cuttbows, rainbow and cutthroats, though up there they called them cuttheads. The fish pictured looks to have been hatchery raised as the tail fin shows signs of re-growth after being worn down.

looks like a cuttbow to me or a hybrid of somesorts with rainbow mixed in
If it looks fishy, Then fish it, If it dont look fishy, fish it anyways. <')}}}}><

Cuttbow
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I think I'll just go ahead and mix things up a bit. I believe the fish pictured is, at best, a hybrid rainbow entering the spawn stage. I don’t think its a cutbow because the skin color is not yellow enough and the spots on its body are much smaller than the average cutbow.

Lahontan Cutthroat?
Where you go is less important than how you get there.

Could that be a Rainbow/Coastal Cutt cross...rather than a Rainbow/Westslope Cutt Cross? Even pure Coastal Cutts look a lot like 'Bows, y'know.

I'm going to have to go Brood Stock Bow. Notice the tail is worn off on the edges from swimming in a cement pond.

Can you send me a "hunk" of DNA (one fillet will work just fine... ) Anglinarcher??
Some sort of hybrid is my guess.....tough to tell exactly what though.
It's a nice fish in my book, whatever it is!!
