Lake Kachees I think...
Don't chase reports...Be the report others chase....
RE:Lake Trout "Mackinaw"
Kachess Lake (4,540 acres): A very popular lake with good camping areas and good boat launching, Kachess should be fair for 8- to 9-inch kokanee by early June. Rainbows, cutthroat, lake trout and burbot are also taken. Kachess is just north of I-90, about 5 miles west of Cle Elum Lake.
RE:Lake Trout "Mackinaw"
I normally fish Cle Elum but sometimes its too windy so we have gone to Kachess a few times. We only caught a Bull trout. Do you have any tips. The park rangers said they hadn't ever heard of such a fish nor seen one taken out of the lake so I gave up two years ago.Aaron wrote:Kachess Lake (4,540 acres): A very popular lake with good camping areas and good boat launching, Kachess should be fair for 8- to 9-inch kokanee by early June. Thanks for the info.

I know of a lake within 30 miles of Seattle but I can't give away one of my favorite zipper lips. By the way macks in this lake get over 25lbs.

I know of that lake too. A fellow Hi-Laker took a raft in there along with a 12 pack of herring and caught a laker.

My secret lake has one 12' aluminum boat 2 oars and no houses on it. Are we still talking about the same lake?
RE:Lake Trout "Mackinaw"
I recently found out that Horseshoe Lake holds Mackinaw although I don't know how big.
Macks:
Lake Washington
Chelan
Cle Elum
Kachess
Deer - Stevens
Loon - Stevens
Bead
Bonaparte
St. Helens
Eight Mile
Isabel
Crescent
Whatcom
Horseshoe - PO
Am I missing any?
Idaho has Mackinaw 56# record on Priest Lake and world? record Bull 32#, world record Kamloops bow 37# both on Lake Pend Oreille.

I wouldn't think that the boat would have survived. Would you think it was flown in by plane???mallard83 wrote:My secret lake has one 12' aluminum boat 2 oars and no houses on it. Are we still talking about the same lake?

Lake Isabel is within' 30 miles of Seattle and has some 20#ers but I was thinking of a lake you could access with a decent ramp and closer to Seattle than Kachess or Cle Elum.

Last Friday I drug a plug at 80' - 120' on Lake Washington for over 4 hours. There were plenty of signals of stacked fish escpecially off St. Edward's Park. I may start using pikeminnows or herring. I'd like to see if Lake Washington realy has Macks.
