Well said Rolland.
Fish and men are alike. They both get in trouble when they open their mouth!!

I think I will sleep in and maybe do some house or yard chores.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Rollin with Rolland wrote:I'll do the deal. Tradition. And you know what I like about it....I see WAY more people involved in fishing than any other time. YES, it can be a pain, and not so attractive to the more experienced anglers, but let's take a step back, and think about the whole picture. This is the SUPER BOWL of WA State fishing. The MASTERS, the WORLD SERIES. Do you know what people pay for advertising during the SUPER BOWL? Even though some of us despise it, you can't argue it is a great stage to promote fishing, involvement, and conservation. Whether it's trout, bass, walleye, halibut....let's catch some fish! I'm sure I'll be chatting with many Sat., clean water and kids all the way!!

(PS....yes, I will be collecting Power Bait from the windy side of the lakes and reselling it as "rainbow color" for $2 a jar...:clown: )

Way to go Rolland, thats called thinking outside the box. I never thought of the opener like that but it makes complete
sense. Good luck everyone!!!

Me and my freinds have rented a barg at Mineral. The crowds are enough, so there is no way I'm going to wait two hours to put my boat in and two hours to take it out. Top that off with no parking.. Pfft. My boat stays garaged and for a small fee I'll use someone elses.

Good luck to all.

Change of plan for tomorrow. I was going to Tapps but my sister flaked out from baby sitting duties.I refuse to
put my son in the boat here now that all the idiots are making their way on the water. Might give Trout a shot with the family...its only 5 minutes away but the only drawback is very limited parking, then plan B would have to be Tanwax.
Good luck everyone and be safe.

WOW! =d>

Nice reporting everyone. Over 40 reports today and I'm sure there will be more tomorrow, just for opening day.

What's the total count Surpreme Overlords?
New record for one day?

I got out to bass fish, and yes it was busy where I was. More boats on the lake today then I saw on that lake all of last year. I'm just glad it's over.

Hope everyone had a good time. Any stories to share of your opening day?

Last year was our best opener yet (36 reports) and this year we're at 45 and counting. Day after opening day last year we had 49 reports and I imagine we'll beat that too.

Funny you should be the one asking about reports... even admitting you got on the water, and we don't have a report from YOU!

I expect you'll rectify that.... ;)

I opted to hit Deep lake on sat as my brother and I left at O-dark-thirty to turkey hunt capitol forest at 4am......

I limited back at deep lake in about 2.5hrs of effort:

And I had to take a little YJ-specific pic for the "what did you do with your YJ today" thread on the jeepforum:

Man I totally forgot fishing.....so much going on, getting garden ready, doing other things...plus havent been on the site for awhile

If the April weather would have co-operated more the garden would have been already to go for the Mid May Planting

The final tally is in. On opening day we had 78 reports, and on the following day we had 63 reports. That's a total of 141 reports for opening weekend. Last year we had 36/49 (85 total) for a 40% increase in report submissions! On top of that, Big D put in the 20,000th report!

All is well in report land.
