Potholes

Post by gpc » Mon Jul 13, 2009 8:08 am

Anybody been to the potholes recently? Last time I was there was fathers day and the water was still pretty high and the fishing could have been better. But I think I am going there for a few days next week. Any info on the reservoir or the the surrounding seep lakes would be great.

GPC...2 weeks ago, they were losing about 5" per day, main channels were 14' in the dunes, so the fish will be starting to spread down into the main reservoir more.

just fished a tournament there. The water has dropped another 3 feet over the past two weeks. You can catch a million dink smallies pretty much anywhere you go, but the largies appear to be pulling back off the dunes into deeper willows and beaver huts...so says the guys who actually caught them. We had 107 boats there, top weight was 19 lbs, lots of people struggled, we worked Lind Coulee all the way back to the bridge and back, but the water is high enough we could have run further back in if we really wanted to.

Thanks guys, glad to hear that the water is dropping nicely.

Anybody hit Banks or Rufus lately? I might spend a day or 2 in that area as well. I have never really fished Banks lake though. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
