You hit it right G! Tuff line all the way!

As far as dog fish go troll fast! Salmon swim really fast. My brother and I fish his Monk Roughwater for years and the absolute slowest it would go was 3kts + a little. We caught more fish with that boat than most could even imagine. She was an old boat and as they do, she had to move on to a new home and now she lives in SF bay. =(........... =)

Here is the dog report after sunday #2.
Not A single dog to speek of.
Not realy sure if it was luck or some changes we made.
First we did troll a little fasted between 3.0 and 3.5 most of the time.
second I shortend the line off the ball from 30' to 40' down to 10' or 15'.
I am thinking the second made the differance. Not interested in switching back to see.
No fish in the cooler yet, but I am not giving up.
I may need a ride out to the water next week. Not shure if The old hooker will be able to get out again next sunday. Anyone have a open seat available area 11 or 10. Pm me if you do I got the gas money coverd.

Gonna jump in late to say that I haven't hooked a dogfish as yet, but if and when I do I'm keeping the dude. Did some research on 'em. The pee taste is a problem if and when you let 'em sit. You have to - HAVE to - bleed 'em and gut 'em ASAP if you're thinking of keeping them. Put 'em in the well and leave 'em for a while and you have a crappy tasting fish. Bleed and clean immediately you apparently lose the urea problem and end up with a tasty hunk o' fish. I"m planning on giving it a shot.

Be my guest....... I used to commercially proccess them and the FDA made us stamp every box "Not Fit For Human Consuption.". That is every box sold in the US, they didn't care about the millions of pounds that went to Europe and the far east. You can eat all you want, not me and that goes for the rest of the shark family and some of the Bill Fish too.

Just say no to eating dogfish....

If you REALLY want meat, flounder can be plentiful and are pretty darn good....

Small chunk of herring, drop over a gravely or sandy area, fish on! Perfect fish to take kids out for...

:safe: sorry I have been waiting for a chance to use that one.
I am not a big fish eater, I do bring them home when big enough to eat for the wife and three boys. (mostly salmon)
I can handle smoked salmon when done right. Any thing that could or might tayste any thing like pee. No thanks says me.
