Sports Authority Tackle
Just thought I'd give a plug for The Sports Authority stores in the greater Seattle area for their fishing tackle. Recently we were talking online here about the loss of retail outlets for fishing tackle. I was in both the Lynnwood and Northgate Sports Auth. tonight. Going through their fishing tackle I considered them to have a pretty decent selection of gear. Particularly I thought they had a nice selection of in-line spinners, Panther Martin, Mepps, Vibrax, a selection of some very different Kastmasters. Some of the Vibrax were very large and with bucktails. Also should note that they had a FINE selection of rapalas...various sizes.
Most interesting was that they had these plastic bags of what appeared to be "Real" minnow type fish, and shad. The shad may have been fake,,, but the minnows looked spot on in liquid.
The only down side is that they appear to be VERY expensive. The Northgate store has a lot of crankbaits for quite cheap though.

I often wondered about the Sport Authority Stores. I get stuck going to certain fishing/hunting gear stores and keep with them.I find there are 3 stores I really like. Wall mart,OE,and Holiday Sports up north.I will check the SA out though.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

The Southcenter one has very limited selection of gear for high prices. You can find thier selection at Fred Meyer for cheaper prices. Thier rod and reel selection is better than Fred Meyers though.

Sports Authority is one of the chain stores that I wonder how they can stay in business. Same with Big 5. High prices, and a lot of old inventory. Reminds me of a glitzed up salvage store.

SA has always had HIGh prices compared to most. Big 5 stays in business by selling older stuff cheap. They are hurting and if things don't improve they will start closing stores.

Outdoor Emporium/3 Rivers for my big trips... When I go in there I know that they'll have everything I need...

About the only thing I get at the Sports Authority stores is discounted inventory that they bought from Joes. I recently picked up a nice one piece bottom fishing rod at 30% of the original sales price. I'm too frugal to buy anything else from them as their prices way up there.
