This early in the season.
For numbers - Possession. For size PT.
Both places will produce. Both will be jam packed with boats.
The fishing area at PT is easier to read than the far larger possession is.
There is over an 11' tidal ebb in the morning. Depending on what method you use (downrigger troll, jig, mooch) you'll need to figure out how your method will do in the tidal exchange.
Your boat size and launch choice should also be considered as the ebb goes to a minus tide.
Life's short - fish hard!

Be aware, Midchannel Bank is great but the Edmonds ferry, towing a boat, is expensive. My Tundra towing my 18' Seahawk the cost is 65-70 bucks each way. I just did it end of May going over to CQ for Halibut. My suggestion is west side of Possession with downriggers but wait for a less extreme tide. Last summer the lure to use was a 5" Tomic plug.

Johns Sporting Goods in Everett has a website and on the left side is a list of articles he has written on various places to fish in Puget Sound including maps. He also wrote a book with all the maps and info in one book called Saltwater Fishing Journal.

Good info, just google Johns Sporting Goods.

Heres the link but I dont know if it will work on this thread.

Area 10 from Kingston to Jeff Head has been putting out kings already for "coho" fisherman. Also, don't rule out Pt No Pt. or the Edmonds Oil Docks.

Good luck out there and welcome to Washingtonlakes.com

pick up a chart of some sort with depths and stuff of the sound, follow the ridges out around possession, me and my dad have caught a bunch of kings out around that point, and even up on the bar, good luck out there

I've spent the last few days doing some recon trolling in Area 10, tons of resident coho out off the south end of Jeff Head in the 2-5 lb range and also bumped into a few nice kings over the past few days... Put back a mid teens fish this morning, only a few more days till they can get the wood shampoo

Wherever you decide to go you'll be fine. Some years opening day for Area 9 is red hot up on Midchannel but last year Possession was the place to be. Hint Hint theres a lot of bait and stuff marking out there in that vicinity....:-"
