Fish lake Chelan County
Last report for this lake was Feb 3.
Anyone been or heard anything about the fishing?
Headed there next Saturday. Usually get my limit but I want one of the monster browns that like to hide in the weeds.

This is what was mentioned in the Week-ender Report (full report) from WDFW:
Fish Lake is not even mentioned. I do not know why.WDFW wrote:In the Chelan County district of the region, Art Viola, WDFW fish biologist, reports a similarly slow April 26 fishing season opener, mostly due to persistent cold weather, snow-covered roads and even ice-covered lakes.
"Little or no fish stocking was even possible at Beehive Reservoir and Lilly Lake," Viola said, "but as spring finally arrives we should be able to get those fisheries up to speed."
Chelan County's Wapato Lake provided very slow fishing on the opener, compared to past years, Viola said, with only a one-trout-per-angler average harvest measured. Most of those were the big triploid rainbows stocked just prior to the opener.

I havnt been there in 3 years but for about a 3 year stretch we would go right around this time and absolutly slay them. 2 times ago, me and 2 buddys caught 60+ fish in 4 hours trolling wedding rings and small dodgers. But last time we went (about 3 weeks after the other time) we had to work really hard for our trout. We just anchored in the shallows and caught perch after perch, not one of them under 10".

Note to Self: Pick up some Perch colored Rapalas for catching the browns#-o

Fish Lake is open year round, so that's why you didn't see it on the opening weekend report. I was thinking about camping there for the weekend, but there's still too much snow on the N. side of the lake. You can only go about 1/4 mi. down the WDFW access road and then you hit deep snow at the corner. I could see that several got stuck and buired trying to turn around and made a mess of the road. Someone camped on the road (maybe last weekend) and left a mess of beer cans and junk. I would think the water temp. is still quite cold with all the late snow we have.
The past 2 years I've been fishing/camping there for the lake opener and caught dozens of fish. WDFW put in a gazillion fish. I've noticed the overall size has dropped quite a bit in the last 5 years. Used to catch nice fat fish in the 12-16 inch range and that's dropped to the 8-12 inch range now. I wonder if the squaw fish are making an impact of the trout survival? If you fish the east end of the lake when it's calm you can see hundreds of multi lb squaw fish. How about putting a bounty on those fish!.....You could make some big bucks.

I fished it on Thursday and Friday. Weather was warm lots of 10" trout we had our limits in an hour. I also caught a 6lb 2 oz triploid and saw a 4lb er come off the docks.
