I remember reading some article in the F&H magazine about catfish in potholes a few years ago, I think they said a decent spot is on the other side of goose island, where the run off from the dam is to the lake below the potholes is.

No access to Goose Island at all anymore. I have caught cats off dock at MArdon. Is that where you guys are staying?

Hey whats up everyone, its been too long.

I cant help you a whole lot, but (like was mentioned above) a hot dog landed the cat 2 years ago that won the dock tourney and a hearing landed the largest cat last year. But in the last 2 year dock tourneys only 2 have been landed. There are plenty of cats in that lake though.

There's an area where you can park and walk down to the shore at one end of the dam and fish. You can try that spot if not the Mardon dock.

Caught one on a pig and jig up in the dunes, but i think that was a total fluke. I don't think that's the best way to target them. something dead and stinky sitting on the bottom will work.

I am heading there tonight, to play ball in moses, and fish for 4 days at potholes. We fish for cats off the dock at night (2 am or so), or, below one of the spillways (they school up with carp. I use waterdogs out of the tri-cities (large slip-sinker-swivel-4 ft. of leader, so, the dog can swim around and attract attention), but, my buddy uses fish guts left out overnight (usually gets a dark stare or 2 from the neighbors>HA!). not alot of people target them, but, there are some whoppers in the resevior! Good Luck!
