Ok, to start, I just relocated to WA thanks to the Army in DEC 08. Have over 11 years in now. I am currently deployed but returning on R & R for two weeks in FEB 2010. I haven't purchased a boat yet do to the fact of not knowing the area well enough and good lakes to fish. I can fish for anything and be happy. Salmon, Steel head, Tiger Musky's, Northerns, Bass (large mouth/small mouth), trout, and pan fish, You name it! I am looking for any suggestions, even lakes I can shore fish. I won't have alot of time on my break to drive all over creation to find a good spot. Can anyone please help me out??? 99% of the fishing I do is catch and release. Last year I only kept 4 perch from American lake, just enough for a snack. I'm not trying to use my Military status for any favors. Just trying to find some people I can become friends with in the area. My home state is PA and do not know anyone in the WA area that is into fishing as much as me. I've been fishing since I was a little kid and will be turning 38 this year. So you could say, I'm about to hit my mid life crisis. I won't be getting a boat until after my deployment is over, (have to deal with the wife about that one) maybe Fall of 2010. If there is anyone out there that can give my some good fishing info for FEB 2010 or even take me out for a day on a lake, I would greatly appreciate it. Once I get back for good, I would always return the favor.

RE:Lake/River Fishing
Welcome to the site! I work near American Lake 2 days a week. There will be days when I will bring my boat. I'll keep you in mind and I am sure I will have an open seat. You said you are from PA? I might have a slight problem if you are a Steelers fan. LOL

RE:Lake/River Fishing
jens,
Sounds good, I may not reach Auburn, WA until the 12th or 14th depending on the flights out of this God for saken Country (I hate Iraq). So durring my travel I may be off the net for about a week but will check as soon as I get back. Thanks for watching out for me. Yes, I am a Steelers fan but since there not in the Super Bowl, don't hold that against me! ha ha Checking the regulations earlier today and it seems like most river fishing is closed out. I may still catch the last week of trout fishing on a few though. About how far from Ft. Lewis are you? Auburn? Anyway, take it easy and may the fish fight hard.
