5/24/2012 10:40:00 AMBuc the Pike dont prefer to eat Bass, this is a proven fact according to WDFW and the Kalispels. Out of 755 Pike that the stomachs were tested only a handful of them had bass or trout in them. What is wrong with fishing the spawn? We practice catch and release only on the Bass.These fish are caught and released multiple times to go right back to their beds and spawn. I grew up on Eloika and have fished it since 1983. I guide on Eloika all year round not just during the spawn, The best fishing is obviously during the spawn. I guess I dont see whats puzzling about fishing for Bass on Eloika during the spawn and enjoying fishing for Pike on the PO River? What is SNAFU? We havent killed a Bass on this lake for over 20 years i bet.
