Had heard that bass and crappie were biting at eloika. So I went out with the brother in law and kid around 10ish. Went for bass initially, chucking jigs at everything that was cover. No dice, decided to break out the ultralight setup. First cast landed a 7 inch perch. Moved locations to a point littered with boats.. Everyone was out deeper. So I went in shallow and hooked into 7-8 inch crappie or perch just about every cast.. After 8 fish we were through the spot and on to other water. Zig zagging our way through the water column. I found a little school of 10 inchers. 3 of them before we moved off. Kid hooked into a chain pickerel of all things. Pretty shocked at that. No bass for the day. Lots of boats out there. Good day overall. Also ran into the ol fishin fool at the ramp.

No, I had the bass boat. But it was a white ice fishing jig with a little straight tail minnow

Worked it just below the surface. Could see the jig the whole time. Seen every strike
