Fiorito Fishing Reports

Another good bet in Kittitas county are the Fiorito Lakes, they are located just south of Ellensburg and you can see them if you are travelling on I-82 towards Yakima, they are on your left as well. There are two lakes located there, the North has predominantly been the better producer, but the south is starting to pick up as well now. They are stocked with the same fish as Matoon lake, only more. Some big brown can be found in these lakes, and the best time to catch them is in the fall, you can also entice these big browns in the early mornings and late evenings. The game department has also stocked Fiorito with the Brute stock rainbows averaging 6-10 pounds. There are more bass in these two lakes, especially the south lake. The trout tend to average about 11-15 inches. There is really no boat launch here and gas motors are prohibited. Both Fiorito and Matoon are my top picks for smaller lakes in Kittitas County.Tim Williams
