I'm Armed And Dangerous - Lingcod Prep 2008!

Post by kutthroatkilla » Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:46 pm

Just to get your blood pumpin a little, decided to throw up these shots of some tackle I'll be using May 1st! Gonna be a blast guys! Look forward to seeing everyone enjoyin it! Weather looks good, tides ain't too shabby, so I say get'er done fellas! After this weekend my avatar is going from a cutthroat trout to one big linger!

Tight Lines!

KTK

**Note** -- Thanks Aaron for the step by step instructions on getting pictures to upload. It works like a charm - thanks bud!

Aaron writes (to resize and upload photos):

Start>Microsoft Office>Microsoft Office Tools>Microsoft Office Picture Manager

Open it.

Tools>File Types

Select the first 4.

Click OK.

Now when you view pictures it will use this program. Just open, click Edit Pictures, Resize and/or Compress. You can do entire folders all at once.

I usually dump from my camera into a named folder like.. "Liberty Lake", then create a subfolder called "Web" where I put a copy of all the photos and resize them all to 800x600... that way I still have the full-resolution versions.

Nice. Fresh bait always seems like a waste of money cause of doggies, but it'll work very well when you're in the lingers. Good luck to you as well big fish lite line! Tight lines and be safe!

No official contests cause we know where that led last time :-" Anyways, no prizes. BUT, the largest ling weight and length should be considered and perhaps crowned KING! :king: Remember no trebles, pinch your barbs down with a hammer if need be, and single point hooks. I don't want anyone getting a ticket on Opening Day..

As soon as I can man. I work on the opener and have to build a deck this weekend for family. But soon enough. I can't wait.

Good Luck.
there may be a store or two in bellingham with no more 4oz jigs:-"

kutthroatkilla has a nicer collection than myself, but it's not really THAT much $$$. so a guy throws down $50-100 bucks for the entire six week season. no sense taking the time to get out there, paying for fuel, food/beverages, and then skimp on the tackle....i took a couple buddies out two weeks ago (halibut) and they felt bad that they were losing $2-3 jigs, and i promptly reminded them that the trip was already at $100, so what's and extra $12??
for anyone interested in getting out in area 7 for ling, i will be posting some open seats the next couple/few weeks, as long as you can handle some waves in a 16'er!!

Packing the boat up as we speak, gonna head out later today, make the hour and a half boat ride then camp the night, and we'll be right on top of major lings at the crack of dawn!! good luck to all...

Rollin with Rolland is right on! Although I think Rolland has an amazing collection of great gear there! You can't go out there with food, proper full fuel tanks, proper electronics, good charting, good depth sounders/gps and what not, and then skimp out on your tackle. You have to go prepared. Listen to this...when I was fishing the San Juans two years ago I hooked into 40 pound halibut just jigging for lings. I'm glad I had my 50 pound power pro and lots of gear. We lose a ton of gear every year, but that's fishing man. You can never go under-armed...you gotta go prepared with a spear, gear, and everything else, like food, life vests, etc. Just have fun.

I did not mention anything about money, Dude. Just clowning. If I knew where the directions to load pic's on this site I would show you my ling lure collection. Then you would see that I "all in" as well.

Money? What? I'm confused #-o Anyways...kayak chris I bet you have a sweet collection and set-up going - I'd love to see it...

...To upload pics make a post and then use the "attach" button and then upload your file...pretty easy to do, hope it works for ya. Good luckers!

sorry kayak chris, i wasn't trying to offend anyone.#-o i can see how my comments could be taken the wrong way, i apologize. not you, but others were mentioning $, and i know EVERYONE is clowning around, including me!! Maybe i just needed to justify to myself the need for "extra" tackle...
you should upload some pics, i would like to see some different takes on ling lures. kutthroatkilla posted some good info at the beginning of this thread about pictures...and Sam K. explained it well here:

http://www.washingtonlakes.com/forum/ya ... ntest.aspx

first entry, near the bottom. i, like yourself, didn't know how to post pictures, but i followed these simple steps and it works like a charm!! you do have to provided an email....but who doesn't have a few of them laying around...

apologies again if i came off as a jerk.....not my intention!! are you gonna be out?? if so, where?
