Sacajawea Lake (48 acres): This lake within Longview's city limits is open all year, and provides an excellent fishery for largemouth bass, yellow perch, bluegill, and other sunfish. Sacajawea is usually stocked in early spring with good numbers of catchable-size rainbow and brown trout, plus a few broodstock and jumbo rainbows. Sacheen Lake (282 acres): Hefty plants of yearling eastern brook and rainbow trout are scheduled here. Located 11 miles southwest of Newport on Highway 195, and 4 miles north on Highway 311, Sacheen has public access on the southeast shore.

Samish Lake (814 acres): Located approximately 6 miles southeast of Bellingham, Samish offers kokanee, largemouth bass, perch and cutthroat. The best fishing is early June and September. There is a public access with toilet and boat launch on the east side.

Lake Sammamish, King County, 4,897 acres. Developed shoreline. Reached off I-90 west of Issaquah. Take exit 15 north 1/4 mile to SE 56th street then east 1/2 mile to a left turn to the State Park launch area (fee). This is the only launch on the entire lake and has 8+ lanes. It needs it due to the heavy use by recreational boaters of all types. This lake holds a variety of fish including bass, perch, trout, and sea -run cutthroat, as well as Coho and Chinook Salmon passing through to spawn. Check regs carefully for seasons. Lake Sammamish is well known for its bass fishing. The lake gets heavy use from water skiers and jet boats so it is not a lake to go to for peace and solitude. The state park is an excellent day-use facility. Very crowded in the summer months.

This is a 36 acre lake planted with rainbow trout, may also hold eastern brook and largemouth bass. Eight miles W of of west end of Hood Canal Bridge, then S for 1.5 miles on road which touches the lake's west shore. There is a rough launch area.

Sawyer Lake (279 acres): This lake located two miles northwest of Black Diamond has a boat ramp and bank access available through Lake Sawyer County Park on the northwest shore. Sawyer offers a diverse mix of species, including rainbow, crappie, cutthroat, kokanee, yellow perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass, brown bullhead catfish and pumpkinseed sunfish.

(610 acres): Impounded in 1994 by Cowlitz Falls Dam, this reservoir southwest of Randle is closed from March 1 to May 31 to allow out-migration of juvenile steelhead. Two parks have been constructed by Lewis County PUD, one for day use and one with campgrounds. The campground park is closed during winter; about Oct. 1 through May 1. Both parks provide good accessibility for disabled persons. Both parks offer a boat launch with 8-foot dock. To get to the day-use facility, turn on Savio Road west of Randle, go south on Kiona Road 2 miles to Falls Road, 3.7 miles and left on Champion Road 240, then left on the next road to the park. Scooteney Reservoir (685 acres): Yellow perch are the main attraction on this enlargement of Potholes Canal. Smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappie, and walleye are also available. Most fishing is during the winter through the ice. An excellent campground on the west side has a developed access area and toilets.

Serene Lake (42 acres): Located just west of Highway 99 at Shelby Road in Lynnwood, Serene has a public access with parking, toilet and boat ramp at the west end of the lake. It is mainly a rainbow trout lake, but largemouth bass are also present. Lake Serene is located west of Highway 99 between Mukilteo and Lynnwood. The lake is 43 acres in size and quite shallow, with a maximum depth of 7.0 meters. The Lake Serene watershed is 223 acres. Most of the watershed is developed with residential uses. There is a public boat launch at the west end of the lake. Gas-powered boats are not permitted. Snohomish Water Management Division
