Bead Fishing Reports

Bead Lake is a 720 acre lake which lies in a beautiful mountain setting just northwest of Newport Washington. It is managed by the Forest Service, Newport Ranger Station. The populations of fish are: Kokanee, Makinaw (Lake Trout), Burbot, and many pikeminnows (used to be called northern squawfish). It is a deep, very clear lake where using downriggers or leaded line will take you down to the mackinaw. Trolling is the most popular way to fish for kokanee.
